Jonathan Ashworth is a distinguished British political figure, renowned for his strategic vision, influential leadership, and unwavering dedication to public service. Serving as the Member of Parliament for Leicester South from 2011 until 2024, he played a pivotal role in shaping Labour’s policies on healthcare, social welfare, and economic reform. His tenure as Shadow Secretary of State for Health and Social Care (2016–2021) and later as Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions (2021–2023) underscored his commitment to addressing the nation’s most pressing social challenges.
After leaving Parliament, Jonathan was appointed chief executive of Labour Together, a think tank closely aligned with Keir Starmer's leadership of the Labour Party.Drawing on his prior experience as a special adviser to Gordon Brown and shadow cabinet roles under Starmer, he was described by the think tank as bringing "unparalleled insight, relationships and political experience" to the position. On 14 August 2025, he was appointed UK Chairman of Public Affairs at Weber Shandwick, a global communications and public relations firm.
