What We Do

SDS, working with SDG UK, provides the governance, infrastructure, and operational capabilities required to design, implement and run regulatory smart data schemes in line with legislative and regulatory requirements.

This includes:

Delivering and operating Data (Use and Access) Act designated smart data schemes across sectors
Developing and maintaining standards, rules, and API specifications
Providing directory, onboarding, and participant access services either centrally or through SDG UK
Delivering monitoring, compliance, and performance oversight services
Operating trust frameworks, including consent models
Managing dispute resolution and scheme governance processes

SDS acts as a shared services operator, enabling schemes to be delivered efficiently, consistently and at lower cost, while ensuring independence, transparency, and regulatory alignment.

Our Role in the Ecosystem

SDS provides a common operating platform for regulatory schemes, enabling interoperability across sectors and reducing duplication for participants.

It will:

Work with existing trust frameworks and market infrastructure where appropriate to avoid duplication
Provide a central trust and infrastructure layer supporting multiple schemes
Enable consistent standards and data-sharing approaches across sectors
Support secure and scalable data sharing between data holders, third parties, and end users
